Siechem Madurai Panthers thumped Jones Tuti Patriots by seven wickets for their second win in the 2018 Sankar Cement-TNPL at the NPR College ground in Natham (Dindigul) on Sunday, July 22.

Shijit Chandran and KB Arun Karthik spoke exclusively after the win.

On two consecutive wins…

Arun Karthik: Jones Tuti Patriots is a very strong team and winning against them is a huge thing, so we are very happy.

On getting emotional after the first win…

Arun Karthik: Shijit and I are very emotional, and the Madurai franchise in the TNPL was always known as a losing team and so winning our first game was very special for us.

What was the conversation after you joined Karthik in the middle…

Chandran: There was no big conversation. We have a really strong batting order and KB (Arun Karthik) and Rohit started really well and we just continued and it worked out well.

This side looks a lot different to the previous years….

Chandran: Obviously our experience… and our batting is really strong with positive vibes. After the first win our confidence has increased and we are looking ahead positively.
